How To Buy Your First Home
When you are interested in purchasing your first property, you might feel like the task is too daunting to even know where to start. Here are a few easy steps that will help you know how to buy your first home:
Contact a buyers real estate agent: your very first step is to connect with a real estate agent who works with buyers. If you choose the right agent their advice will be invaluable. As a buyer, most real estate agents won’t charge you to work with them (the sellers normally take care of the payment!) so there is a good potential that working with a buyers agent will be no cost out of your own pocket.
Contact a lender: In order to purchase a new home you need to know how much a bank will lend you for your home purchase. Contact a lender and ask them for a preapproval. The preapproval will give you insight on how much of a home price you can afford. Don’t have a good lender? Ask your agent! They will most likely have a few suggestions; None the less, be sure to ask around to friends and family as well. .
Save a Down Payment: Be sure to start saving for your down payment. My suggestion is to have at least $20,000 set aside as a down payment. Of course, there may be some down payment assistance programs that you can leverage to help you buy your first home in Arizona.
